Welcome to Marie’s Lucky Paws. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") set out the agreement between you (the client) and Marie’s Lucky Paws when you book or use our dog walking, pet sitting, and pet check-in services. By booking with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

1. About Us

Marie’s Lucky Paws ("we", "us", "our") is a UK-based pet care business providing professional dog walking, pet sitting (day and overnight), and pet check-in services.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to book our services. By making a booking, you confirm that you meet this requirement and have full authority to enter into this agreement.

3. Bookings & Initial Meeting

  • We offer a free initial meet and greet to meet you and your pet(s), discuss routines and assess suitability.

  • Client and pet information will be digitally written up during or after the meet and greet to store care information about each pet.

  • You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. Failure to do so may result in refusal or cancellation of services without refund.

  • We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services if we believe a pet’s needs cannot be safely or appropriately met.

4. Services, Pricing & Payments

4.1 General Pricing

  • All prices quoted are base rates.

  • Final pricing may vary depending on number of pets, specific care needs, travel distance, or additional requirements agreed in advance.

  • Once an invoice is issued, the price will not change unless services or times are extended at the client’s request.

4.2 Dog Walking & One-Off Check-Ins

  • Payment is due within 7 days of the service, as stated on your invoice.

  • Cancellations:

    • More than 48 hours’ notice: no charge

    • Less than 48 hours’ notice: 50% of the service fee

    • Same-day cancellation: 100% of the service fee

4.3 Pet Sitting (Day or Overnight) & Multi-Day Check-Ins

  • Charged per 24-hour period.

  • If care extends beyond the agreed 24 hours (e.g. late return), an additional charge may apply.

  • A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking and must be paid on the day of booking unless otherwise agreed.

  • Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received.

  • If the deposit is not paid, dates may be offered to other clients.

4.4 Payment Schedule for Multi-Day Bookings

  • 30% deposit at time of booking

  • 50% of the remaining balance due on the first day of service

  • Final 50% due within 24 hours of the last day of service

  • Full upfront payment is welcome if preferred

4.5 Verbal & Written Agreements

Any arrangements confirmed via message, email, phone, or social media are considered binding agreements unless otherwise stated in writing.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Deposits for pet sitting and multi-day bookings are non-refundable in all circumstances.

  • Where sufficient notice is given and alternative dates are available, deposits may be transferred to a new booking (subject to availability).

6. Late or Non-Payment

Failure to pay according to the agreed schedule may result in:

  • Suspension or cancellation of services

  • Refusal of future bookings

  • Late fees and/or recovery action

Late Payment Fee:
A late fee of 10% of the total invoice will be added every 7 days the balance remains unpaid, until paid in full.

7. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Disclose all relevant medical, behavioural, dietary, or training information about your pet(s)

  • Ensure pets are appropriately vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated

  • Provide safe and secure access to your property

  • Ensure walking routes, gardens and home environments are safe

  • Provide up-to-date emergency contact and veterinary details

8. Health, Safety & Welfare

  • The welfare of pets is our highest priority.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or end services if a pet, property, or environment is deemed unsafe.

  • We are committed to safeguarding any young person undertaking work experience. Work experience students will never be expected to work unsupervised.

  • Risk assessments will be carried out where appropriate.

9. Training, Insurance & Professional Standards

  • Marie’s Lucky Paws confirms that appropriate training is kept up to date for the business owner and any team members.

  • We maintain valid business insurance at all times, including public liability and pet care insurance.

  • Evidence of insurance or training can be provided upon reasonable request.

10. Keys, Access & Home Security

  • All keys, access codes and security information are stored securely.

  • Keys will never be labelled with full address details.

  • We are not responsible for alarm systems unless clear instructions are provided and tested.

11. Reviews & Feedback

We welcome honest reviews via Facebook or Google. We reserve the right to respond to or moderate content that is abusive, misleading, or defamatory.

12. Our Responsibilities

  • We will provide reasonable, professional care for pets and respect client homes.

  • We accept responsibility for injury or damage caused directly by our negligence.

  • Any such incidents will be addressed in line with our insurance policy terms.

13. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Illness, injury, loss, or death of a pet due to age, illness, or conditions beyond our control

  • Damage caused by a pet to the client’s property or third parties

  • Issues arising from inaccurate or withheld information provided by the client

14. Personal Data

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy (see below).

15. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically. The most recent version will always be available on our website.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
