Welcome to Marie's Lucky Paws. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form the agreement between you ("the Client") and Marie's Lucky Paws ("we", "us", "our") when booking any of our pet care services.

By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms.

1. About Us

Marie's Lucky Paws is a UK-based professional pet care business providing:

  • Dog Walking

  • Pet Sitting (Day & Overnight)

  • Pet Check-ins

2. Eligibility

Clients must be 18 years or older.

By booking with Marie's Lucky Paws you confirm that:

  • you are the legal owner (or authorised carer) of the pet(s)

  • all information provided is accurate

  • you have authority to enter into this agreement.

3. Meet & Greet

A complimentary meet & greet is provided before accepting new clients.

This allows us to:

  • meet you and your pet(s)

  • discuss routines

  • complete care records

  • assess suitability for our services.

Marie's Lucky Paws reserves the right to decline any booking where we believe we cannot safely or appropriately meet the needs of the pet(s).

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to provide accurate information regarding:

  • medical conditions

  • medication

  • behavioural issues

  • diet

  • routines

  • emergency contacts

  • veterinary details

Clients must ensure:

  • pets are vaccinated where appropriate

  • flea and worm treatment is kept up to date

  • the property is safe

  • walking equipment is suitable and in good condition

  • any hazards are disclosed.

Failure to provide accurate information may result in immediate cancellation of services without refund.

5. Pricing

All prices shown are base rates.

Prices may vary depending on:

  • number of pets

  • travel distance

  • additional care requirements

  • bank holidays

  • extended hours

Once an invoice has been issued, prices will not change unless additional services are requested by the client.

6. Payment

Dog Walking & One-Off Check-ins

Payment is due within 7 days of the service unless otherwise agreed.

Pet Sitting & Multi-Day Bookings

30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all bookings.

Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 24 hours after the service is finished.

Bookings made within 48 hours of the service start date must be paid in full immediately.

Marie's Lucky Paws reserves the right to cancel or refuse services where payment has not been received.

7. Booking Extensions

Should the client require the booking to be extended due to delayed travel or unforeseen circumstances, Marie's Lucky Paws will make every reasonable effort to accommodate the request.

Additional days will be charged at the applicable daily rate.

Payment for the additional services will be due immediately upon invoice unless otherwise agreed.

8. Cancellations & Refunds

Dog Walking & One-Off Check-ins

More than 48 hours' notice:

  • No charge.

Less than 48 hours' notice:

  • 50% of the service fee payable.

Same-day cancellation:

  • 100% of the service fee payable.

Pet Sitting & Multi-Day Bookings

The 30% deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.

Cancellation:

More than 14 days before the booking

  • Deposit retained.

7 days before the booking

  • 50% of the total booking cost payable.

Less than 3 days before the booking

  • 100% of the total booking cost payable.

Where cancelled dates are successfully rebooked by Marie's Lucky Paws, cancellation charges may be reduced at our discretion.

9. Late & Non-Payment

Failure to pay invoices by the agreed due date may result in:

  • suspension of services

  • cancellation of future bookings

  • refusal of future bookings

  • late payment charges

  • debt recovery action.

Late Payment Charges

Invoices unpaid 7 days after the payment due date will incur a late payment charge equal to 10% of the outstanding balance.

If the invoice remains unpaid, an additional charge equal to 10% of the outstanding balance (including any previously applied late payment charges) will be added every 7 days until the balance has been paid in full.

Updated invoices will be issued after each late payment charge is applied.

10. Debt Recovery

If an invoice remains unpaid for 28 days after the original payment due date, Marie's Lucky Paws reserves the right to begin debt recovery proceedings, including recovery through the County Court where appropriate.

Where legally recoverable, clients may also be responsible for court fees and any reasonable costs incurred in recovering outstanding balances.

11. Veterinary Treatment

Should a pet require urgent veterinary attention whilst in our care and neither the owner nor the emergency contact can be reached, Marie's Lucky Paws is authorised to seek veterinary treatment considered necessary in the best interests of the animal.

Veterinary costs are the clients responsibility, Maries Lucky Paws insurance may cover costs if it is not a current ongoing health problem.

12. Health & Welfare

The welfare of every animal is our highest priority.

We reserve the right to end services immediately where:

  • a pet poses a danger

  • the environment is unsafe

  • continued care would place ourselves, the pet or others at risk.

13. Keys & Property Access

Keys, alarm codes and security information are stored securely.

Keys will never be labelled with your address.

Marie's Lucky Paws accepts no responsibility for alarm systems unless written instructions have been provided and tested.

Additional journeys made solely for key collection or return outside the agreed booking may incur an additional charge.

14. Insurance & Professional Standards

Marie's Lucky Paws maintains valid business insurance including Public Liability and Pet Care Insurance.

Evidence of insurance can be provided upon request.

Relevant training will be maintained and updated where appropriate.

15. Photographs

Unless requested otherwise in writing, Marie's Lucky Paws may take photographs of pets during services for:

  • owner updates

  • our website

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

  • promotional material.

No client names, addresses or identifying information will ever be published without permission.

16. Reviews

We appreciate honest reviews from our clients.

Marie's Lucky Paws reserves the right to respond to reviews that are misleading, abusive or defamatory.

17. Limitation of Liability

Marie's Lucky Paws cannot be held responsible for:

  • illness or death caused by underlying medical conditions

  • injury caused by undisclosed behavioural issues

  • damage caused by the client's pet(s)

  • losses arising from inaccurate information supplied by the client

  • events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing within these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

18. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information is used solely for providing pet care services and complying with legal obligations.

19. Changes to These Terms

Marie's Lucky Paws reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time.

The latest version will always be available on our website.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We may use Squarespace, Facebook, WhatsApp Business, Google Business, and Gmail. Each has its own privacy policy.

10. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally. Clients are encouraged to review it periodically. You will usually only be asked to sign once per year, but ongoing use of our services confirms acceptance of the current version.
