Marie Fleming
Marie founded Marie’s Lucky Paws in Norfolk in 2020 and after a brief pause while relocating to Nottingham, proudly reopened the business in early 2025. She holds canine and feline first aid qualifications, full insurance and an enhanced DBS check, ensuring every pet in her care receives safe, professional attention. Marie’s compassionate approach, attention to detail and commitment to ongoing training mean clients can trust their animals are treated like family.

Thomas Betts
Thomas is a trusted member of the team who steps in for pet sits as needed, although he doesn’t take on many sits each year, he often accompanies Marie when clients are happy for a second pair of hands. As Marie’s partner, Thomas brings calm energy and reliable support, helping ensure pets feel comfortable and routines are kept consistent during visits.

Georgina Lindley
Georgina joined us as a workplace student while completing an Animal Science course at college. She brings practical experience gained from working alongside Marie, relevant academic training and hands on knowledge from caring for her own pets.

At Maries Lucky Paws we ensure our team are trained in both canine and feline first aid so every pet in our care receives swift, knowledgeable attention in an emergency. Our staff regularly update their skills. This gives owners peace of mind knowing we can act promptly and calmly to reduce pain, prevent complications and get veterinary help when needed.

Marie has completed a range of courses and webinars covering spotting common illnesses and emergencies, the use of common drugs and supplements, preventive healthcare, and best practices for walking and caring for dogs with joint disease. You can request to see these certifications during your meet and greet with Marie.

We have full pet-care business insurance with Protectivity and all team members are covered while caring for your pets. The policy protects clients and staff for incidents during walks, pet sits, home visits and other services. This helps ensure safety and gives you peace of mind that any unexpected issues will be handled quickly and professionally. This can be shown during the meet and greet with Marie.

Marie and Thomas both have enhanced DBS checks, ensuring they have undergone the highest level of background screening for working with vulnerable individuals and animals. This can be shown to you during your meet and greet with Marie

Between the team we have a wide range of experience caring for a of dogs and cats, from energetic working breeds to smaller companion pets. We have worked with breeds including German Shepherds, Huskies, Akitas, Malamutes, Dalmatians, Chow Chows, Shar Peis, Weimaraners, Collies, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Spaniels, Staffies, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Corgis, Cockapoos, Terriers, Maltese, Pomeranians, Shih Tzus and many other breeds. Our experience also includes puppies, kittens, litters of kittens and senior dogs, this allows us to confidently adapt care to different temperaments, energy levels and medical needs. Between the team we have also cared for small animals and pets including rabbits, runner ducks, hamsters, rats, budgies and fish, giving us a well rounded understanding of animal care across species.
